Dia Mirza Wedding and Reception Photos

It wasn't just any Ritu Kumar‬ ensemble for Dia Mirza's Delhi wedding. The actor transformed herself into a Mughal-style bride in shades of emerald and gold. In the middle of Friday night, Bollywood actor and producer Dia Mirza publicly announced a new phase of her life on Twitter—her wedding with longtime beau Sahil Sangha via a picture of the couple at the mehendi function that took place in Delhi earlier that day. Dia Mirza's wedding planners are Erina DeAbreu and Natasha Katgara Gocal of Divinity Weddings. They are also responsible for actress Vidya Balan's wedding. We have for you Dia Mirza's wedding photos.

For her mehendi ceremony, Dia Mirza posed next to Sahil Sangha wearing a deep marigold yellow colored chanderi anarkali by Ritu Kumar, with a vintage cut on the kurta. The gold metallic taar used is of silver worked in gold thread and dori, to give it a stylized plant inlay look. Each panel is highlighted with a flowering buta. The dupatta is fuschia worked with small butis of the same beaten gold gota patti, a fuschia brocade deep sinjaf finishes the edges of the outfit

The three-day celebrations started on Friday with a mehendi function, which was followed by a sangeet the next day, where Mirza was clad in an Anita Dongre ensemble at a farmhouse in New Delhi.

Ritu Kumar designed a traditional green and gold joda for the bride, the embroidery work of old zardozi craftsmanship dating back to the Mughal era. Not your conventional bridal outfit, it was made up of a kurta, farshi pajama and a dupatta. The outfit was typically Hyderabadi in aesthetic, even the dupatta's embroidery done by master craftsmen with a lineage from the Avadh court. "The elaborate borders placed on both the paat (upper half of the pajama) and the gote (lower half) seams are finished in a style typical of the Hyderabadi court, a city which Dia Mirza has lived in for many years," says the designer.

For the wedding reception outfit, Dia Mirza chose designers Shantanu & Nikhil's lehenga in raw silk.

Queen Kangana Ranaut rules the ramp at India Bridal Fashion Week 2014

Queen Kangana Ranaut clearly ruled the ramp at the BMW India Bridal Fashion Week 2014. The 27-year-old actress was the show-stopper for designer Suneet Varma at the BMW IBFW 2014, who aptly dressed the queen in the royal velvet red saree. Making a bold statement, the red velvet saree was worn with a sexy embellished butterfly blouse and a Rajasthani headgear.

Suneet Varma’s golden crowns quickly became the talking point of his collection. He said he drew inspiration from Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. Suneet Varma's collection was traditional Indian with a modern twist‐ As an interesting departure for Suneet, this time he used a lot of shades of red from sindoor to vermillion to gulaal and fuchsia pinks from rose to deep magenta that lie at the very heart of Rajasthan. Mirrorwork embellishment with large borders in thread embroidery was also prominent in Suneet Varma's 2014 bridal collection.

We are curious! Would you consider wearing an elaborate headgear on your special day?? Post your comments below:

India Bridal Fashion Week 2014 - BLUE is the new RED!

When it comes to Indian Bridal colors, the first color that comes to mind is RED. So typically bridal week designs focus on red with variations of gold, pink, green etc. So Ashima Leena's bridal wear in BLUE really stood out in the Indian Bridal Fashion Week 2014.

The ornate and intricate colorful Zardozi work on the carefully crafted lehenga cholis, shararas and also salwar kameez's in the peacock blue color with red and gold contrast dupatta were a refreshing sight! Kudos Ashima and Leena!

Here are a few of our favourite picks from Ashima Leena's bridal collection at India Bridal Fashion Week 2014.

The silky silhouette and brocade embroidery on the dress look perfect on her.

Manish Malhotra ICW Alia Bhatt Bridal Wear

Star magnet Manish Malhotra and his Bollywood connection was unmistakable when Aditya Roy Kapur, in an ivory sherwani, along with Alia Bhatt in a cherry red lehenga, dazzled in his ICW 2014 show titled 'Portraits'. Manish Malhotra presented his latest bridal collection at the ICW show. Interestingly, the bridal dresses were ornate enough to cover for the missing bridal jewellery. There were many other interesting bridal dresses by Manish Malhotra which we have posted in the pictures below but the one that stood out completely was the red and gold bridal dress worn by showstopper Alia Bhatt.
