Jhumkas, Kundan Jhumkas the hottest trend in bollywood

Jhumkas have taken over Bollywood apparently! Everyone is sporting big and heavy looking jhumkas - Kashmiri jhumkas, kundan jhumkas, bali jhumkas. Kashmiri jhumkas are the ones that go around the ear. Bali jhumkas are usually round. Kundan jhumkas are my favourite, they look so pretty with the white kundan diamonds with white pearls. Vidya balan was recently spotted wearing heavy gold jhumkas. So was Anushka Sharma. Jhumkas are sort of a retro trend, but hey as we all know - history repeats itself! The trend is to wear jhumkas with everything - saree, salwar kameez, even Tshirts! So I have heard that velvet sarees are the new trend this bridal season. This velvet saree is a bit different thought. It is not made of velvet entirely. Nor is it like the velvet sari that came out last year that only had the velvet border and was made of net. This one is with a twist. The saree pallu is velvet whereas the rest of the saree is a different material either gorgette or net.

Bollywood celebrities like Sridevi, Anushka sharma, Sridevi recently wore a beautiful light blue with black velvet saree to an event and she looked amazing. Pssst.. she always does! Anushka sharma also wore a purple pallu velvet saree to an event which she combined with a long sleeved purple velvet embroidered blouse. I love how the velvet sari gives a very regal and royal look, yet its not overpowering when combined with the net that makes it look delicately beautiful. I think a velvet saree is perfect for that evening reception since they have that traditional yet contemporary modern look to them.
