Manish Malhotra ICW Alia Bhatt Bridal Wear

Star magnet Manish Malhotra and his Bollywood connection was unmistakable when Aditya Roy Kapur, in an ivory sherwani, along with Alia Bhatt in a cherry red lehenga, dazzled in his ICW 2014 show titled 'Portraits'. Manish Malhotra presented his latest bridal collection at the ICW show. Interestingly, the bridal dresses were ornate enough to cover for the missing bridal jewellery. There were many other interesting bridal dresses by Manish Malhotra which we have posted in the pictures below but the one that stood out completely was the red and gold bridal dress worn by showstopper Alia Bhatt.

Alia bhatt bringing sexy back with gorgeous modern traditional twist lehenga cholis, alia bhat lehenga choli

Alia bhatt the newest kid on the Bollywood block is bringing sexy back with her modern traditional twist lehenga cholis. For filmfare awards, she wore this gorgeous black Manish Malhotra lehenga choli in pink and black. Pink and black is like my favourite combination for a traditional dress and this lehenga choli totally rocked it. The bow-tie in the back and the bold choice of colors was a cutesie western touch to a more traditional lehenga. Alia Bhatt's lehenga choli is perfect for a sangeet function or reception.
For Khwaab Bridal Couture 2013, Alia Bhatt was the show stopper for Kavita and Meenu and she dazzled in the golden and black lehenga choli shown in the third photo below. This golden and black lehenga is also perfect for a wedding reception event.
I also loved Alia Bhatt's more mature look in the Sabyasachi rani pink saree below.
And ofcourse, who can forget Alia Bhatt's famous bright pink and silver sequined Radha lehenga from her movie Student of the Year.

Parineeti Chopra is the hottest face in Bollywood right now. She recently was the show stopper for Manish Malhotra's bridal wear fashion show. I absolutely loved Parineeti Chopra's red velvet lehenga. The accessories were a bit much on the head but the lehenga was gorgeous. She also showcased the coral lehenga collection in Manish Malhotra's angeli foundation fashion show. I also loved her look in the navy blue with coral pink anarkali by Manish Malhotra. Parineeti Chopra also chose to wear a black Manish Malhotra lehenga for an award function and she looked stunning.

Coral and orange lehengas, chaniya cholis and bridal sarees - traditional indian Coral and orange bridal saree

So we all know the standard indian bridal colour is red, but here's a twist - brides who chose to wear a different colour on their weddings. So we started with blue, pink, green and purple bridal dresses last month. In this month's post we present more modern and beautiful coral lehengas, coral chainya cholis and coral bridal sarees. Coral is really the new hot color on the horizon because it is uncommon yet incredibly festive and beautiful. It's not as bright as orange yet gives that warm orange colored look.
Manish Malhotra has taken a special affection for the coral color and his coral lehenga with the sequined choli pictured below is to die for! Priyanka Chopra looked excruciatingly sexy in a heavily embellished coral lehenga at star studded 'Mijwan Sonnets in Fabric 2012' fashion show by Manish Malhotra at Hotel Grand Hyatt, Mumbai. Coral was clearly a hot favourite with designers like Manish Malhotra, Meheka Mirpuri and Anita Dongre at the Amby Valley fashion show.
Each week we pick a different colour and present beautiful bridal dresses in that colour. This week its pretty coral indian bridal dresses. Dare to be different? You bet! These are some of my favourite coral bridal outfits. Leave a comment to let us know if you would choose to wear coral for your wedding/reception.

Manish malhotra orange lehenga -- I love the pattern on the skirt. It's a very traditional Indian buti that I have on a few of my outfits. But I'm always drawn to it!

Indian Bridal Fashion Week 2013 Manish Malhotra

I must say I was surprised to see so much black in Manish Malhotra's collection at the Indian Bridal Fashion Week 2013. I am used to the pinks, reds and oranges which Manish is brilliant at showcasing, but the combinations of brown, green and pink just did not work for me. The dresses looked a bit bulky for the most part and not elegant. Here are a few of my picks from Manish's collection.

Deepika Padukone was a show stopper in this gorgeous Manish Malhotra black velvet lehenga with beautiful kundan necklace type adornment. This was probably the only black outfit that I liked from Manish's collection.

The blue and yellow combination for the lehenga is very unique and I think this Manish Malhotra piece will be good for sangeet or engagement function.

This beautiful peach coloured anarkali lehenga by Manish Malhotra is perfect for the reception. The neckline is a little too deep but that can be fixed.

The red velvet lehengas are perfect for the wedding or the reception. Being velvet already gives it the heavy look (they must be really heavy too) and combining them with gold jewellery is really easy because of the golden border and designs.
